On View January 9 to February 6. The exhibition title I am Energy: Tat Tvam Asi, translated from Sanskrit as “That Thou Art,” speaks to the beautiful monochromatic work of local artists Kim Matthews and Mary Simon-Casati. In this show these artists share their explorations of the world’s order and wonder through their own art, creating an environment where energy, form, and abstraction coexist.

Opening Reception is Saturday, January 9, 6 to 8 pm.

Galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is always free.

51st Anniversary of the Winter Celebration in the City of Coon Rapids - Snowflake Days- from January 28th, 2016 to February 14, 2016. The Coon Rapids Snowflake Days began in 1964 as a Jaycee project. It was conceived of the notion that the City of Coon Rapids needed a civic celebration the the entire community could participate in. All of the neighboring communities had summer celebrations so Coon Rapids thought they would try something in the winter so as not to compete with their neighbors.

Lyric Arts is happy to invite Hitchville to be a part of our Music in the ‘Burbs concert season for the first time in 2016! Hitchville has quickly solidified themselves among the upper echelon of regional talent. Under the leadership of dynamic lead vocalists Heidi Owens and Matthew Kneefe, the group’s trademark harmonies are hardly the last thing attending “Hitchville Residents” are talking about long after the smoke has cleared and the group has left the stage. The combination of face-melting vocals and “don’t try this at home” instrumental solos leads to an unforgettable live show in which the band has worked tirelessly to produce.

A Minnesota love story with singin' and stuff. It’s “Fargo” meets “The Music Man” (without the blood or the trombones).

The story takes place in a colorful, rustic north woods bar in Bunyan Bay, Minnesota. It is the coldest day of the year and cantankerous bar owner, Gunner Johnson, wants to sell the business and move to sunny Florida. Clara, his wife and former Winter Carnival Bunyan Queen, wants to stay. Bernice Lundstrom, the pretty waitress, wants to pursue a singing career. Her fiance, Kanute Gunderson, wants her to stay home. It is a battle of wills that test their relationships. When a fast-talking salesman, Aarvid Gisselsen, promises to solve their problems and bring romance into their lives through the 'magic' of karaoke, all heck breaks loose!

It’s a very ordinary and rather boring day for Alice until she spots a White Rabbit with a pocket watch whizzing through a world that’s beyond imagination! Her insatiable curiosity draws her into a madcap adventure in which she meets remarkable characters like the Caterpillar, Talking Flowers, a Duchess and her Cook, a Gryphon and Mock Turtle, a Mad Hatter and a March Hare. When Alice finally catches up with the White Rabbit in the Queen’s Court, she’s in for her biggest adventure of all. In its inaugural year, this “Theater for Young Performers” production is a journey through the wonder-filled world of Alice and a delight for the adventurous of any age.
