Danny and Sandy fall for each other during a carefree summer fling. But when the school year begins, Danny is torn between his feelings for good-girl Sandy and his image with the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies. This simple and well-known plot is set against the backdrop of 1959, a pivotal moment in American history, when rock and roll was in its infancy and everything in American culture was about to be turned upside down.
At it’s heart, Grease is an unconventional and rebellious musical about America’s tumultuous crossing over from the 1950’s to the 1960’s — all fueled by cars, drive-in movies, and, more than anything, rock and roll.

Enjoy a full week of good food, good music and good times at the New Brighton Stockyard Days.
Starting with the golf tournament "The Corral Open" and ending with the Coronation of our 2015 Ambassadors, this year’s festival brings our community together like no other event. And sandwiched between these events, we manage to fit in a softball tournament, the Medallion Hunt, a kiddie parade and movie night, a Grande Parade, two street dances with top name bands, car show and swap meet, a karaoke contest, a duck race and three days of food and craft vendors at the scenic Long Lake Regional Park. We will also be the finish line for the 120 mile Antique Car Run featuring cars that were built before 1909.
Most events are free and held at the Long Lake Regional Park, 1500 Old Hwy 8. There is a $3 parking fee.

A highlight of the festival is a parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday on Lake Drive, starting at Target and ending just short of Main Street. The parade has become more popular each year, with celebrity grand marshals and guest emcees, floats, local organizations and businesses, and the Lino Lakes Ambassadors riding on the city float. Other popular events include the street dance on Friday and Saturday night at Millers on Main, Quad Chamber Business Expo, American Legion Family Picnic, YMCA Splash and Dash, Lions Petting Zoo, Centennial Fire Open House, Blue Out 5K Fun Run and much more! The coronation is held on Sunday of that weekend to crown the next year’s Miss Lino Lakes Ambassadors. Each year something new and different brings families out to enjoy the festivities.
