Rice Creek Campground, located in the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park Reserve, offers 5,000+ acres of natural and scenic wilderness, only 25 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Biking, fishing, boating, golf, and swimming are just a few of the many activities you will find within the park. Nature programs are held regularly at the campground amphitheater and at nearby Wargo Nature Center (one mile north of the campground).

You can also get in a quick round of golf at Chomonix Golf Course, located just a mile down the road.

Rice Creek Campground is generally open from mid May through September.

Bunker Hills Campgrounds

Located in Coon Rapids, the Bunker Hills Campground was completely redeveloped in 1998. The campground now offers 44 secluded and shaded sites, ranging from the rustic to modern with water and electrical hookups, and one groupsite that can accommodate up to 30 people, using tents, with water and electricity hook-ups. Some sites are perfect for large family gatherings.

Bunker Hills Campground is located near Bunker Beach Water Park and the Bunker Park Stables, both offer fun family activities while you are camping.

The Bunker Hills Campground is generally open from late April through September, with dry camping through October.

Ham Lake Campground

Located on Ham Lake the Campground is just 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities and just 9 miles north of the National Sports Center and Schwans Super Rink. Ham Lake Campground offers a quiet and peaceful “up north” atmosphere without the drive.

Camping Cabins

Ham Lake Campground’s three new camping cabins are nestled in the woods with views of the lake. Great for young families or small groups, each cabin is located on it’s own campsite and has a pri- vate fire pit and picnic table. They all have air conditioning and heat.

Cabin campers can make use of the main bathhouse for shower/toilet facilities or porta potties near by. The covered deck offers a great sitting area for meals, playing cards or just relaxing.

Visitors staying in the cabins need to bring their own sleeping bags or other bedding. They can do their cooking outside at the fire ring, which has a grill.

Campsites

Ham Lake Campground offers 61 full hook up sites. They are separated in 2 sections, north and south. Each has there own laundry and bathroom facilities. Each comes with their own picnic table. There is a central fire ring for the full hookups to share.

Tent campers will find 10 tent sites. 5 have a lake view. They are very grassy and wooded. With close porta potties and flush toilets available. They come with a picnic table and fire ring. You are also able to use our other 76 electric and water sites to put up your tent.

Activities

Ham Lake Campground offers many fun activities including bocce ball, horse shoes, shuffleboard, fooseball, ping pong, volleyball, golf-fling and much more.

Theme weekends include kids craft, face painting, kids games, pot luck appetizer party, scavenger hunts, and lots more fun.

For rent: Paddle boats, fishing boats, canoes, banana & Zike bikes.

Canoe Camping along the Rum River

Canoe camping is a relatively new recreational resource offered by the Anoka County Park System. Two canoe camping locations are available for your use at Rum River North County Park (at the northwestern corner of the park) and Rum River Central Regional Park (directly east to the river from the park entrance).

There is no charge for using the canoe campsites and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is a need to park one vehicle in the park overnight, please complete the special use permit request form and submit it to the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department via fax or mail 14 days prior to the requested date of the overnight stay.

Please keep the campsite areas clean for the next group.
