Spend the Last Days of Summer Fun in the Twin Cities Gateway
Summer is coming to an end, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had in the Twin Cities Gateway! From concerts and festivals to car shows and art classes, there’s something for everyone.
Here are a few of the great events happening this month:
- New Brighton Stockyard Days (August 9-11): This multi-day festival celebrating the spirited history of New Brighton, Minnesota, with a parade, live music, games, prizes, food, local business and artisan booths, the Antique Car Run, and more.
- Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days (August 15-18): This four-day event features a parade, food, and yard games.
- Mounds View Festival in the Park (August 16-17): This two-day event features a parade, car show, live music, crafts, fireworks, and more.
- The 43rd Annual Game Fair (August 16-18): This four-day event is a sporting event with activities for the whole family.
- Mandala Stone Painting Class at Alloy Brewing Company (August 18): This is a chance to learn how to paint mandala stones.
- Anoka Food Truck Festival (August 17): One of the Twin Cities Gateway most popular and delicious free events!
- Concerts: Catch a performance by The Cafe Accordion Orchestra w/Pat Donahue at Crooners Supper Club on August 15th or see The Varsity Rejects at Serum’s Good Time Emporium on September 6th.
- Car shows: Check out the Inaugural Classic Car Show at Forgotten Star Brewing on August 4th.
- Presentation by Mel Aanerud, “The Electoral College and Anoka County” (August 20): In his presentation, Mel explains the history of the Electoral College, how it works and why it was established and how the 2020 experience was different from others.
- Love Golden Retrievers? Make sure you take your four-legged best friend to the 15th Annual RAGOM Goldzilla Fun Fair and Walk for Rescue (September 15th) event in New Brighton!
- Rhythm of the Rapids (September 12th) is a one-day music festival on the banks of the Mississippi River at Riverview Plaza features food trucks and live music by G.B. Leighton. Bring the whole family!
