Minnesota’s only designated U.S. Bike Route runs through the Twin Cities Gateway communities of Anoka, Coon Rapids and Fridley. Minnesota’s segment of the Mississippi River Trail Bikeway follows the river roughly 600 miles from its source at Itasca State Park to the Iowa border. Located largely on road shoulders, the route also includes segments of scenic state, regional and local trails. Minnesota’s route, sometimes on both sides of the river, totals more than 800 miles. The on-road segments are suitable for experienced bicyclists comfortable sharing the road with traffic. There are some segments—mostly in the Twin Cities—where the on-road segments are on dedicated bike lanes.

Take part in the pumpkin harvest at Berry Hill Farm. The 100 acre farm, tucked away in rural Anoka, turns glorious shades of gold, orange and red during October - and provides a family-friendly outing. Pick out your own farm-grown pumpkin directly from the field - not a supermarket bin - and haul it to your car in a little red Radio Flyer. Take a tractor tour through the back acres of the farm, which winds through the woods filled with charming pumpkin people. Get lost (but not too lost) in the tall grass maze, and be the first to find the enormous golden nugget. The best fall photos happen here because smiles come naturally at Berry Hill Farm. Experience the colors of fall. Wagon rides, field maze, pumpkins and more!
