Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society – Campfire Stories

August 16, 2025 Crooners Supper Club

A Live Radio Drama

The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society celebrates the outdoor season with two spooky campfire stories, performed in the style of a classic radio broadcast, including commercial breaks, eerie music, and live sound effects. “The Shadow People” from Hall of Fantasy (1952): A woman, convinced her mother was murdered by mysterious shadow people, enlists the aid of famed paranormal investigator, Dr. Hesselius. “Song of the Bittersweet” from Dead Men’s Tales (2020): In this original radio drama written by Eric Webster, a mysterious stowaway heralds doom for the embattled crew of the Bittersweet.

The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society performed their first staged old-time radio recreation in 2016 at the Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater in Minneapolis. Since then, they have appeared at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, Daleko Arts in New Prague, and the Wabasha Street Caves in Saint Paul. Their recreations were also featured monthly from 2017 to 2019 at the James J. Hill Center and from 2020 to 2022 at Park Square Theater in Saint Paul. Currently, the MORLS can be seen regularly at Crooners Supper Club and the Bryant-Lake Bowl theater.
