Actor and playwright Melanie Wehrmacher has been seen locally at the Jungle Theatre, Penumbra, History Theatre, Park Square, Mixed Blood, Pillsbury House, and Yellow Tree, among others. She has spent 25 years creating museum theatre for institutions such as the Central Park Zoo, Science Museum of Minnesota, New York Hall of Science, Minnesota Historical Society, and the Milwaukee Zoo. During the pandemic, those interests and “edu-tainment” skills inspired her YouTube channel Adventures in Hostessville, which has grown into a live event series. She firmly believes that “those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it” and “those who don’t eat snacks are doomed to be hungry.”
