Anoka to Host America 250 Celebration

The City of Anoka, in partnership with its Heritage Preservation Commission, will host an America 250 Celebration on Wednesday,  June 17, from 3-9 p.m. at Riverfront Memorial Park. The community event honors the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and will feature historical displays, community booths, crafters, a farmers market, family-friendly activities, food vendors, and patriotic tributes celebrating America’s past, present, and future.

Highlights of the evening include

Attractions 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.

• Farmers Market on the Rum

• Crafters & artisans

• Historical clothing/costumes

Kids’ Zone 3 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (free)

• Bach-to-Rock

• Inflatable fun

• Petting zoo

• Touch-A-Truck

• Arts & crafts

• Games & prizes

Highlights 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

• Welcome by Mayor Skogquist

• Fife & drum, color guard & musket firing

• National anthem

• Rockin’ on the Rum concert – Shane Martin performs Americana music
