Event Features:

Carol will also be hosting an Artist Talk on Saturday, March 12 from 11am – 12pm after the show opening where attendees will learn about her as an artist and the creative process she uses in creating her artwork. You can also come and meet Carol on Saturday, March 12 from 12pm – 1pm and Saturday, March 19 from 11am – 1pm.
Carol Strait has been painting for 20 years. She seldom uses a brush but rather acrylic and oil crayon on any surface. She uses her fingers and any object like chopsticks to create her pieces. The goal for all of her paintings is to have an emotional impact on the viewer. Carol allows herself to build up her muse and then she releases her, allowing the subconscious to come to the surface. Motion, color and form are significant elements in Carol’s pieces. The inspiration for the pieces in her show comes from animals that represent strength, stealth and survival.
Carol has had her work displayed in a variety of shows and fairs, including the Uptown Art Fair in 1999, the MN Renaissance Fest from 2000-2006, the St. Paul Art Crawl for the last 20 years, the Everett and Charles Gallery in 2020 as well as many coffee shops and restaurants. In 2021, Carol received an award for her artwork from the MN State Fair Artist Association.
Animals on Black will be open in the Rumriver Art Center Gallery until March 27, 2022.
