Snowflake Days is a long standing annual celebration in January or February with many fun activities and events for the whole family. Yearly favorites include the Snow Sculpture Contest, Medallion Hunt, and skating events.

Community Medallion Hunt

Begins Friday, Jan. 30

Watch for daily clues at CoonRapidsSnowflakeDays.com(until medallion is found or Feb. 8). First to find the medallion wins a cash prize!

Snow Sculpture Contest 

Begins Friday, Jan. 30

Start building! All sculptures MUST be completed and registered online by Monday, Feb. 2 at coonrapidsmn.gov/SculptureContest. (Judging occurs Tuesday, Feb. 3)

Chili Challenge

Thursday, Feb. 5 from 5:30-7 p.m.

Tickets: $10 (age 13+)  |  $5 (age 6-12)
Ages 5 and under free!

Proceeds benefit the 2025 Coon Rapids Community Strength Foundation events, including the Summer Concert Series, 4th of July Fireworks, Rocky’s Pumpkin Patch and Tree Lighting Festival.

Senior Snowflake Party

Friday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m.
Civic Center, 11155 Robinson Dr.

Enjoy music from Coda and a lunch of chicken Kiev, wild rice blend, brown sugar baby carrots and dessert! Call Senior Services at 763-767-6473 to register.

Winter Fun at Sand Creek

Saturday, Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sand Creek Park, 1008 Northdale Blvd.

Kids medallion hunt at 11:15 a.m. followed by Cookies & Canvas crafts and snow painting.

Waffle Breakfast & Senior Bake Sale

Sunday, Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to Noon
Civic Center, 11155 Robinson Dr.

Hosted by the North Star Lions. Free-will donations benefit the North Star Lions for 4th of July activities.

An awards ceremony for all contest winners immediately follows the breakfast at noon.

Family Fun Day at CRIC

Sunday, Feb. 8 from 5-7:30 p.m.
Coon Rapids Ice Center, 11000 Crooked Lake Blvd.

5-6 p.m. – Outdoor skating and games

6-7:30 p.m. – Free public skate indoors
