Anoka Riverfest & Craft Fair Celebrating 25 Years

ANOKA, Minn. – Drawing more than 20,000 people each year, Anoka Riverfest & Craft Fair is celebrating its 25th year of offering a variety of artists and crafters, a beautiful setting along the Rum River, delicious food, music, and more!  This fun, family-friendly event is a great way to spend the day outdoors in historic downtown Anoka on Saturday, July 13, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Browse through the outdoor market offering hand-crafted goods created by more than 150 juried artists. Organizers pride themselves on ensuring that all products offered are 100% hand-crafted by the vendor. Find clothing and accessories, jewelry, soaps, lotions, home and outdoor décor, furniture, food and more. Plus, it is just steps from downtown Anoka merchants. Visitors can extend their shopping experience by walking through the many unique shops.

Stop by the food courts to satisfy your cravings, from fresh squeezed lemonade to corn dogs, egg rolls, gyros, hamburgers, ice cream, kettle corn, mini donuts, pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, root beer floats, waffles, walking tacos – the list goes on.

The Anoka Social District is in effect and Riverfest is in the heart of it.  Thirsty adults, 21 years and older, wishing to enjoy a beer, wine, or cocktail may do so by purchasing drinks through a licensed social district vendor.  Each drink will be served in a specially marked social district cup.  Posted signs with a QR code will help visitors learn about the social district vendors, rules, and boundaries.

Being within the social district this year will add to the enjoyment of the overall event, especially when adults can sip and stroll throughout the district on a warm, summer day.  We anticipate the addition of the social district and live music returning will enhance the event and bring in more visitors not only to the event, but to the downtown businesses,” said Peter Turok, President of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce.

Live performances on Veterans Stage in Riverfront Memorial Park include:

  • Ken Krona Duo                 10:00 a.m.  – 11:30 a.m.
  • Amy and Adams                11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
  • Peter Ruddy                       1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Cardinal Points                  3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Kids of all ages can join in from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind Anoka City Hall to unleash their inner artist with chart art!  Artists of all ages and talents are welcome to draw scenes or pictures that depict friendship, love, and kindness. Artists under 14 years of age must be supervised by an adult.
