Fridley
Travel to Fridley and enjoy the many outdoor activities and recreational facilities available just a short drive from its bustling downtown and industrial sectors. The City of Fridley is the gateway city to Minneapolis. Fridley is a first ring suburb with a lot of commercial business and industry. This helps keep its taxes low while providing high quality governmental services. Fridley is the home of Medtronic's World Headquarters, Cummins Power Generators, BAE Systems, General Mills, Minco Products, Burlington Northern Railroad Yards and Unity Hospital. It also hosts the first North Star Commuter Rail Station from Minneapolis which brings you to downtown Target Field in Minneapolis or up to the cities of Coon Rapids, Anoka, Elk River or Big Lake.
Within the City numerous parks and bikeway/walkways abound. Attractive recreational facilities are located on the Mississippi River like the Islands of Peace, Manomin Park, the Reidel Estate and Farm, and Riverfront Park. Nestled within the City's northwest corner is Springbrook Nature Center a 127 acre nature preserve and interpretive learning center that provides nature programs, camps, and events throughout the year. On the east side of the City Moore Lake provides residents with a beach, sandy dunes, park shelters and a fishing pier. You will find softball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, football, and hockey being played at our various parks like Community Park, Commons Park, Madsen Park, Locke Park, Flannery Park and Fridley Little League Field throughout the year.
