Banfill-Locke Reading Series Events
The final three reading series events of 2015 are sure to delight and inspire. On the second Friday of the month at 7:30 pm we invite readers and writers and literary appreciators of all ages and experiences to join us for intimate events in our welcoming space. They are free to attend and no advance reservations are needed.
On Friday, October 9 at 7:30 pm we invite Britt Aamodt, a multimedia storyteller, poet Stanley Kusunoki, and novelist Sherry Roberts to share their work with attendees in what is sure to be a lively and fun evening of diverse writers.
On Friday, November 13 at 7:30 pm poets Tim Nolan and Warren Woessner will read their work and talk about integrating their creative sides in their lives. Both poets are full time lawyers, incorporating creative endeavors in their daily life.
Friday, December 11 will be a chance for the Banfill-Locke Writer-in-Residence Katherine Schaefer to read some of what she’s been working on during her term at Banfill-Locke. She’ll also invite a few writer friends to also read at the gathering.
Get the Banfill-Locke Reading Series events on your calendar this fall for some joy and time of shared community. Free refreshments are served and a chance for great conversation is to be had.
The Reading Series events are presented in partnership with the Anoka County Library.
Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts (BCLA) is a source for the community providing inspiration, enrichment, enjoyment, opportunities and education through the arts. Since 1979, Banfill-Locke has served the community through accessible arts programming including gallery exhibitions, classes and workshops, festivals, gift shop, literary readings and artist residencies. The Art Center has inhabited the historic former Banfill Tavern and Locke House since 1988 through a public/private ownership with the Anoka County Parks Department.
